Eligibility
The Housing Authority of Okanogan County (HAOC) is accepting Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from January 11, 2020 at 12:00 pm PT, until further notice
Please note: According to the HAOC public notice "This opening is only for individuals and families who have a family member who:
- Is non- elderly (between ages 18 and 61), AND
- Has a verifiable disability"
There are two ways to apply during the opening period:
- Print the online paper application here
- Pick up an application from the HAOC Omak office, located at 431 5th Ave West, Omak, WA
Once the application has been completed, it must be either:
- Faxed to (509) 422-1713
- Postmarked by January 11, 2021 or later and mailed to the Housing Authority of Okanogan County, 431 5th Ave W, Omak, WA 98841
- Dropped off at the Housing Authority’s office’s drop off box found at the front entrance of the office, located at 431 West 5th Avenue in Omak WA
This waiting list has the following preferences:
- Transitioning out of an institutional or other segregated setting
- Currently experiencing homelessness
- Previously experienced homelessness and currently is a client in permanent supportive housing or in a rapid rehousing project
- At risk of experiencing homelessness
It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list
