Green Island, New York Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Village of Green Island Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program Office (VGI) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open from June 3, 2019, until July 30, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

1. Attend the information meeting at the Green Island Municipal Center.
2. Pick up an application at the Green Island Municipal Center.

Once the application was completed, it must have been hand delivered to the Green Island Village Office.

This waiting list had the following preferences: Village of Green Island residents; Near-Elderly (50+);Disabled; Displaced by natural disaster or government action; Working; Enrolled in training or enrollment programs and are eligible for participation in Family Self-Sufficiency. According to the VGI, "families will be assisted before non elderly singles," and "nearly elderly single head of household, ages 25 to 59 will have preference before non elderly singles."

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.
