Winchester, Virginia Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The City of Winchester Housing Choice Voucher Program Office Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted for one day only on October 29, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Applicants living and/or working in the City of Winchester.
• Applicants who are Working Families: Families where the head, spouse, or sole member is either employed, is age 62 or older, or is a person with disabilities.
• Applicants who are Homeless: “Any person or family that lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence; or is living in a shelter, an institution that provides a temporary assistance, or a public or private place not designated for regular sleeping accommodation”.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences
