Sault Ste Marie Housing Commission Public Housing Waiting List

The Sault Ste. Marie Housing Commission (SSMHC) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The SSMHC offers two Public Housing communities with 263 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.To apply, pick up a pre-application at the SSMHC, located at 608 Pine Street, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm EDT, Monday-Friday.Once the application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.Be sure to include these documents with your application: Birth certificates, Social Security Cards, proof of all income, and photo IDs for all adult household members.The SSMHC does not have a preference. Qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the application is received.For more information, visit the SSMHC website, or call the office at (906) 635-5841 during normal office hours.
