This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Fort Worth, Texas.

Fort Worth Housing Solutions (FWHS) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from June 17, 2024, until June 21, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

This waiting list was originally scheduled to open with the Project-Based Voucher waiting lists from June 10 until June 14, 2024. According to an FWHS notice on Facebook, "Due to a software glitch as it relates to the HCV Wait List 2024... All HCV applicants that applied during June 10, 2024, through June 14, 2024, must reapply next week. This does not apply to the PBV wait lists."

Canceling a waiting list opening so far into the application period is an event that the Affordable Housing Online team has never seen before. Many waiting list openings have been postponed for a variety of issues, but that usually happens only hours after opening — not days.

As of June 12, the Housing Choice Voucher and Mainstream options are still selectable on the online application. Any application submitted for either of these programs from June 10-14 will not be reviewed by the housing authority. Only applications submitted from June 17-21 will be reviewed for HCV and Mainstream waiting list eligibility.
