This waiting list is for Senior Section 8 Project-Based Voucher rental housing assistance in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Jefferson County Housing Authority (JCHA) last accepted Elderly 55+ Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for 1-Bedroom apartments at Hickory Ridge l, ll & lll from April 29, 2024, until May 1, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

This waiting list was for the following property:

• Hickory Ridge l, ll & lll

Please note: According to the JCHA "Must Be 55 Years of Age or Older to Apply. All Applications require an email address."

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Catastrophic Involuntary Displacement
• Applicants with an Adult member enrolled in an employment training program or currently working 30 hours per week or more.
• A person defined as elderly or disabled under the definition verified by the Social Security Administration.
• Special Circumstance Preferences: These preferences apply only to specific units:
  • Near-elderly families over other families for units designated for elderly/disabled (this preference only applies to designated properties)
  • For one bedroom/efficiency units; elderly, disabled families and displaced persons over single persons.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.
