This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Torrance, California.

The Housing Authority of the City of Torrance (HACT) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed. 

The HACT last accepted applications for this waiting list from July 26, 2022, until August 9, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Family (more than one member), disabled, or elderly (age 62 or over) 
• Live or work (one adult member 20 hours a week or more) in the City of Torrance. This does not include the Torrance PO area east of Western Avenue (ex. 90502 zip code is not the City of Torrance). 
• Involuntary displaced by natural disaster or government action  
• Current member of the U.S. Armed Forces, a veteran (discharged other than dishonorably), a spouse of a veteran currently on active duty, or a surviving spouse of a veteran
• Victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking
• Households living in substandard housing 

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
