This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Kern County, California.

The Housing Authority of the County of Kern (HACK) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The HACK last accepted Section 8 HCV applications for this waiting list from January 28, 2022, until February 28, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

1. Someone who is involuntarily displaced due to; natural disaster, governmental action, avoiding reprisals and/or victims of hate crimes
2. Veterans and/or servicemen
3. Homeless individuals and families
4. Local residents of Kern County are given preference over applicants from other communities

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
