This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in City of Detroit and Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Lapeer, and St. Clair County, Michigan.

The Detroit Housing Commission (DHC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from February 3, 2020, until February 5, 2020. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.In addition, in early September 2024, the Housing Authority has announced it will cease issuing new vouchers due to a funding shortage. No existing voucher holders will lose their vouchers due to this funding shortfall.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
