New York City, New York Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens, and Richmond County, New York.

The New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from May 17, 2021 until May 28, 2021.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

The maximum income limits for each household size were as follows:

• 1 Person $41,800 | 6 Persons $69,200
• 2 Persons $47,750 | 7 Persons $74,000
• 3 Persons $53,700 | 8 Persons $78,750
• 4 Persons $59,650 | 9 Persons $83,510
• 5 Persons $64,450 | 10 Persons $84,286

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Households defined as Homeless.
• Households identified as Elderly and/or Disabled (as defined by HUD).
• Families with Dependent Children.

15,000 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
