Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority Public Housing Waiting List

This waiting list is for Public Housing rental housing assistance in Lynchburg, Virginia.

The Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority (LRHA) Public Housing waiting list for 1, 2, 3 and 4-Bedroomapartments is currently open. Applications are being accepted from January 28, 2020 at 9:00 am ET, until further notice.

The LRHA owns, and operates, 328 units of public housing at four locations within the city of Lynchburg, and they include:

• Dearington Apartments located on Chambers Street with 100 units built in 1959-1960
• Birchwood Apartments located on Hill Street with 103 units built in 1973-1974
• Langview Apartments located on Yorktown Avenue with 50 units built in 1982-1983
• Brookside Apartments located on Forest Brook Road with 75 units built in 1982-1983

To apply during the opening period, complete the online application.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

• Working
• Elderly/Disabled
• Veteran or Veteran Family
• Homeless
• Victims of Domestic Violence
• Involuntary Displaced
• Substandard Housing
• High Rent Burden (rent is 50% or more of my income)
• Currently Enrolled in an Educational Training Program

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
