Whatcom County, Washington Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Whatcom County, Washington.

The Bellingham & Whatcom County Housing Authorities last accepted accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from July 15, 2024, until July 19, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

Income Qualification

The maximum income limits for each household size were as followed:

• 1 Person $36,950 | 5 Persons $57,000
• 2 Persons $42,200 | 6 Persons $61,250
• 3 Persons $47,500 | 7 Person $65,500
• 4 Persons $52,800 | 8 Persons $69,700

Preferences

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Terminated due to Insufficient funding.
• Individuals or families displaced by government action.
• Individuals or  families who are either current residents of the Housing Authority Public Housing Program or other approved subsidized housing who are inappropriately housed or who are on the Public Housing waiting list and for whom the Housing Authority has no appropriate housing.
• Families or victims of domestic violence.

Selection Process

600 selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.

Application Method

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.
