Chariton Housing Authority Public Housing Waiting List

The Chariton Housing Authority (CHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for senior/disabled households.Please note: The CHA does not offer a Public Housing program for families.The CHA offers one Public Housing community with 72 units for senior/disabled households, ranging in size from 1 to 2 bedrooms.There are two ways to apply: 

1. Visit the CHA to pick up a pre-application, located at 429 S. Main St., Chariton, IA 50049, during normal office hours.
2. Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (641) 774-2725 during normal office hours.

Once the pre-application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security statement and a form that states any/all medical expenses.The CHA does have a preference for: Seniors and disabled individuals.For more information, the CHA can be reached by calling (641) 774-2725 during normal office hours.
